A Nature Walk

'In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.'  -  John Muir

Life has been crazy.  I know you can relate.

A camera walk through my yard helps me put things back in perspective.

Sometimes I just focus on what needs to be fixed: the weeds that need to be pulled, the trees that should have been trimmed last fall, the flower beds that need cleaned out, the grass that needs to be mowed...

But when I look through my camera lens I can see beauty among the things I think need changing.

Today I am joining Texture Tuesday and Life Thru The Lens.

My top image was created after watching a video in Kim Klassen's Test Kitchen, there are a bunch of great tutorials there.  I didn't use any textures, really.  The other images I used Kim's texture 100.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great week!

  2. These are so pretty Michelle! I love your walk through the yard...just taking a few minutes to see the beauty around, and forget the "to do list" makes a world of difference! Enjoy more spring days ahead!

  3. "But when I look through my camera lens I can see beauty among the things I think need changing." Ack, yes... I'm in a serious rut right now, and I need to get to searching out the beauty. Thanks for this post, it totally encouraged me.

  6. What lovely blossoms and pretty pictures. I love that you get out your camera and make the simplest things into works of art. This time of year is about renewal but sometimes we make it about drudgery.

  10. That is the most gorgeous tree. Is it a tulip magnolia? I can't wait to see some open all the way.

  12. Beautiful. I especially like the second image . . . the linearity of the stark branches with a few buds just beginning and the one partially open. I went to John Muir Jr High in Los Angeles . . . many years ago.

  13. Love the perspective on the hostas. When I first looked at your new buds on your tree they almost look like little chickadee silhouettes - that or I need sleep!

  15. Great images - love those hosta ones, and the blossom against the sky. It's good to reconnect with nature and remind ourselves of what's important isn't it? #LTTL

  20. A garden is a lot of work, though wonderful work. My favorite kind of work, I think. But you are right, when you step back and look at it through your camera you can see all the beauty that is there. I alwasy love to walk through my garden and just take it in.
