A Blanket Of Fog

The day didn’t go as we had hoped.  We were expecting clear skies and endless views while driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in California.  Needless to say the weather didn’t cooperate and instead of clear skies we saw a blanket of fog.

The surfers didn't seem to mind the fog and the chill in the air.  I loved the old fence and a VW van always deserves a photo.  It turned out to be a very nice adventure.

Today I am joining Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday and the Be Still 52 class.  My images were textured with Kim’s texture 1612.

Thank you for stopping by!!
Have a great week!!

  2. Love, love the photo of the fence post and the quote - perfect in every way. So glad you didn't let the fog keep you from taking pictures - the diptych is the essence of beach.

  3. Gorgeous-ness! ♥ The fence photo is fab, and the quote too. The rusty Volkswagen van is so full of character, and the beach photo so serene. :))

  7. That is a drive I want to do at some point in my life, fog or no fog.

  8. Isn't this highway just gorgeous? The fog, however, is there often. I live close to Highway 1 and I never get tired of it. Beautiful photos!

  9. Too bad about the fog - but it did make for some beautiful photographs. I love that first one!

  10. Hello Michelle,
I just noticed that you are following us at Red Rose Alley, and I wanted to follow you as well. I could really relate to this post as my husband and son are surfers. I live in California also, so I'm sure I've seen some of the same lovely places as you have. Your pictures are so pretty today, and the quote is wonderful.

  11. Michelle,
I'm not sure if it went through or not, for some reason I am having a hard time with blogger right now. It's so frustrating, but I will check back later.

Have a sweet day. Your blog is filled with simplicity, and I appreciate that.

  13. Love the fence photo and quote!! Is that a feather on the fence post?

  14. Lovely fog on the coast. I miss it. Great feather on post. California surfers are all a little nuts. My nephew is one of them.

  15. Beautiful....simple and beautiful! Fog helps to create great atmosphere..and the feather is also such a simple item, but has a lot of impact in the way it subtly catches the eye.

  16. Yeah-the CA coast can be finicky. But you managed to get some great shots.

  17. You found some wonderful images in spite of the fog (or because of it). Love that VW, it looks so West Coast 60's, and your fence image perfectly illustrates that great quote.

  18. Fog improves landscapes as far as I'm concerned:) These are great!
