'Each moment
is a gift, that is why it is called the present.'
I remember counting down the days until Christmas when I was
little. I could hardly wait. When Christmas finally arrived it was the
biggest present that held my interest.
Whatever is bigger is better, right?
How things change as I get older. Now I could really use a few more days before Christmas. The
time is flying by with so many things to do.
I have also grown into the idea that bigger is not always better...the little wonders of everyday create a wondrous life.
I have also grown into the idea that bigger is not always better...the little wonders of everyday create a wondrous life.
I remember hearing once that each moment is a gift, that is why it is called the present. If I spend my days wishing for a big day to come, I will have wasted my 'present' and missed some of the best moments of my life. I could easily overlook how wonderful a hot mug of coffee feels in my cold hands, the beauty of a foggy morning or frost edged leaves on my walk...those things which can only be appreciated in the moment. I don't want to miss those tiny miracles which add up to a miraculous life.
Yes, big gifts under the tree are nice (little ones too), but
I have come to appreciate I am given many little gifts every day which accumulate
into a full and extraordinary life. I
just have to be open to receive them...each moment truly holds a gift.
I feel so blessed you visited today, thank you. I really appreciate each and every one of you who stop by and say hello. I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas
and Happy New Year!
Michelle
