Blessings

This photo is textured with kk_touchof-1 and kk_sonnet.

This quote by Rumi reminds me to open my eyes and count my blessings.  There is a lot I don’t have, but I have all I need.  I am blessed.

I found these cute flowers at a local flower shop.  I put them in an old mason jar which was already decorated with a blue bow and placed it on a flea market doily.  Why do they call those lacy things doilies, you may wondering?  I was too, so I looked it up.  They are named after Doily, a 17th century London draper.  Now we both know.

Life Is A Gift

This photo was textured with kk_anne_2b.

My tulips were dropping their petals.  The pile of petals still looked beautiful.  While I was taking pictures of them, I thought how fragile all life is and how most days I run through life not giving it a second thought.

I intend to treat today as the gift it is.  I will tell those I love, I love them.  I will create what is in my heart today, rather than when I find time.  I will be slow to judge, because we are all doing our best.  I will make the most of the gift given me.

Tomorrow I may forget again how precious each day is.  But hopefully something will remind me, and I can begin again.

Today I am linking up with Kim Klassen's Textured Tuesday.

Have a wonderful week!

Tiptoe Through The Tulips

This photo was textured with 2 layers of kk_0303

How I yearn to tiptoe through the tulips!  For some reason the Tiptoe Through The Tulip song came to mind, and I couldn’t get it out of my mind.  Then I thought how wonderful it would be to tiptoes through the tulips today, if only it were spring.

This photo was textured with two layers of kk_0303.

More snow fell last night making spring seem far away.  We did not get much, but enough for schools  to be closed today.  We have gotten more snow this winter than we have in a long time.  The temperatures rise between snow storms, so there isn't a lot accumulated on the ground.  But today there is enough for sledding!

Today I am linking up with Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday.
