Friday Finds

I had a fun day yesterday.  I went with a friend to a little town called Waynesville.  Waynesville is a great place to shop in boutiques and also look for antiques.  My finds are these old spoons.  The spoons have so many possibilities.   My daughter has her eye on them for creating jewelry and of course I think they would make great photo props.  I may have to hide a couple…

I have been incredibly busy this past week, some fun things and some not so fun things.  I haven’t even been able to visit Start to Finish or Be Still 52.  Next week doesn’t look much calmer, my brother-in-law is getting married and there is much to do.  I will not be posting until the following week and then hopefully catching up with Kim’s classes, oh how I missed them this week.

Today I am joining FridayFinds, my image is textured with the Kim Klassen texture simple.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Have a great weekend!

Classes

‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.’  -  Mahatma Gandhi
‘You learn something every day if you pay attention.’  -  Ray LeBlond

I found these boppy little flowers in a mixed bouquet at Trader Joe.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the flowers, I just knew I needed to take their picture.  When I took the flowers’ picture I had the Be Still 52 class in mind, leaving negative space.

In the Start to Finish class our challenge was eggs, anything to do with eggs.  I eat a lot of eggs, but I have never taken a picture of eggs before yesterday.   I didn't realized how photogenic they are.

Today I am joining Friday Finds, Start to Finish and Be Still 52.  My images where textured with the Kim Klassen Textures simple and 0312.

Thank you for stopping by!!!
Have a great weekend!

If Not Now... When?

There are times when my head is crammed so full of worries, places to be, or lists to do; there is no room for creative whims or inspiration.  Other times when I get out of my head and into my heart, I can hear quiet whispers urging me to do this or that.  Ideas not voiced from my head, but only heard and felt from my heart.  These inspirations can be followed by excuses from my mind, reasons it wouldn’t be possible, or practical, to do ‘that’ now because of x, y or z.  After the excuses sometimes I hear another quiet whisper from my heart, ‘If not now, when?’

My photograph today was textured with Kim Klassen's texture 0603.  I am joining Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday, where the theme today is Black and White.  I am also joining Be Still 52, a new Kim Klassen class where Kim urges us to take a moment to be still everyday and let that stillness seep into our images.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!
Have a great week!

Dogwood Flowers

‘Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain.’
– Vivian Greene

Before the rain started…
I had fun shooting dogwood flowers using a shallow depth of field.  The result is almost like a painting, with spots of color here and there.

Some of the flowers were affected by the late spring snow and not their usual shape.  You can see the snow pictures here.

Thursday I found the dogwood flowers looking a little droopy, and wet.  We have had our share of spring storms the last couple days, as many of you have too I'm sure.  I am not complaining, because I know in August I will be wishing for rain and cooler weather.

I had a great visit with my parents last week.  My daughter had her Spring Band Concert last Thursday, she plays the french horn, and they did wonderful as always. One of my favorite things we did during my parents visit was play croquet.  We use to play with my grandparents, lots of great memories were remembered.  My grandparents yard was flat and mine is seriously bumpy,  so we named our game 'cross country croquet'.

Today I am joining Kim Klassen’s Friday Finds.  I found dogwood flowers and raindrops, a lot of raindrops.  My images were textured with the Kim Klassen textures 0603 and may.

Cuppa

I always have a cuppa something within arms reach.  My cup could be filled with coffee, tea or water, usually the same cup all day long.

If I have wine in the evening I will grab a different cup.  But it doesn’t need to be anything special…

just a plastic solo cup will do.  I really am not very picky, although my husband would disagree with that statement.

Today I am joining Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday, the theme is ‘cuppa’.  My cuppa images are textured with the Kim Klassen texture 2303.

I am looking forward to my parents visiting this week.  With all the extra plans, I probably will not be posting again until next week.
Have a great week and a wonderful Mothers Day!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Tell Me...

‘Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?’
– Mary Oliver

The rainy day diffused the sunlight and shooting into the light work for the above shot.  The rainy day also left me some rain drops to capture with my camera.

Not only did I find raindrops and tulips this week, I also found something in my mailbox.  I found these beautiful note cards from Donna Hopkins over at Pic Me Up Photos.  She had a giveaway last week and I won.  Thank you Donna!  Her blog is beautiful too, take a peek at www.picmeupphotos.blogspot.com.

Today I am joining Kim Klassen for Friday Finds.  My tulip images were textured with the Kim Klassen textures anna and tea time.

Thank you so much for stopping by!!
Have a great weekend!!
