Breakfast

"What nicer thing can you do for somebody than make them breakfast?"
 -  Anthony Bourdan
"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
 -  Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Is there one ingredient in your kitchen cabinet which you always add a little more of to the recipe than it recommends?

I have one.

I always add more vanilla.  I love vanilla.  If a recipe calls for it...I want to taste it.

And that is what I did when my hubby and I made this cheesecake together Sunday night.  Shhh...I didn't tell him.  :)

You may be wondering why this blog post was titled 'Breakfast'.  Well...we started baking late and the cheesecake wasn't cool when we went to bed.  So I sliced up the cheesecake for breakfast, which surprised both my hubby and my daughter.  :)

Later in the day I showed them my pictures of the cheesecake and the first thing they both said was, "What did you do to the cheesecake?!".  I reassured them I took the blueberries off and the cheesecake was still plain...just the way they like it.

Is there one ingredient you always add more of to the recipe than it suggests?
Do tell.  :)

My heart is full of gratitude for all of your well wishes and prayers for my sister, Kim, while she is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  Thank you so much!

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Michelle

  1. This makes me smile Michelle, because, yes I add extra bits of a few things. Hubs always says "put in plenty of pecans"!! And vanilla is another...we love a good vanilla. Extra banana in banana bread. Oh, and once I misread the recipe and you should have seen the dry cocoa I added, but oh you should have tasted it!! LOL Continued prayers for Kim. xx

  2. To ask your question Michelle there really isn't one ingredient I tend to use a lot.
But I recently discovered that fixing my aged mother breakfast is the thing she loves the most! Who knew, all these years, that it would make her so happy!!

  5. That's funny that they didn't want the blueberries. Looks delicious. Not sure that there is anything I add more of, usually I hold back on some things.

  6. The cheese cake looks great with the blueberries, I wouldn't hesitate to try that combination! :)

I don't bake too often but one ingredient I always add more of when cooking is sweet paprika, I like the colour it adds...
