‘Life is so much
brighter when we focus on what really matters.’
My house is a mess. I
have laundry and suitcases that need to be put away. I have weeds that need pulling. I have no food for dinner. My car smells like a skunk. But today I am going to the pool with my
daughter.
I try to be super
mom, have a clean house, healthy dinner, neat yard … all in the same day. I am driving myself crazy thinking if I was good
mom/wife I could do it all.
Today I am taking off my cape. I am letting go of being a super mom and I will realize I am a
better mom when I am not stressed out about being a better mom.
The
summer slips by so quickly every year. I
am going to enjoy spending time with my daughter today. And I am not once going to think about the
work I ‘should’ be doing, or at least try not to.
Thank you so much for stopping by!!
Have a great week and remember to enjoy the
summer!
Michelle
Yay! I hope you have a wonderful day - the housework will wait! Great work with the different depths of field on these lovely images. I adore old jars.
ReplyDeleteLove your use of the bottles, and the quote is wonderful, love the added key
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your bottles. I really like the crop in the second one. Yes. Yes! Go to the pool with your daughter. My philosophy is that rainy days are for cleaning.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos ! Enjoy your day at the pool, the housework will be there when you're ready. I love your attitude ! :)
ReplyDeleteLove today's pictures and the message even more! Think I'll take my cape off, too! The vintage bottles are beautiful with different sizes, colors, and textures and your depth of field variations give such a creative composition. Have fun with your daughter!

Yes, I think you really had a wonderful day....spending time with our family is the most important thing. The picture with the bottles are one of my favorites ever! Love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the time and have a great week,

Bravo to you Michelle. Now that I'm in the winter of my years I know that time spent with family was much more important than getting the laundry done. I know it's hard to do everything and that you find yourself swamped but it's so much more important to make those memories.
ReplyDeleteI can so relate! Good for you!
ReplyDelete~your quote is so true! Love the old bottles!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the bottles! Hope you had a fun day!

Beautiful photos! I agree, the housework will always be there and really you are a super mom for realizing how important it is to spend time with your daughter than getting all caught up with your work. Hope you have a great time.
ReplyDeleteReally great. I like the first photo very much. I like the linearity caused by the stem and bottles. And the key in sharp focus. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. I agree with you 100%-take off the cape and just be!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful play with focusing...and the quote fits perfectly. Yup: the stuff that really matters.
