Cuppa

Megan, my daughter, and I went to an antique mall on Monday.  Megan found an old key to add to her collection, she loves to wear them on a necklace.  While she is at school, I 'borrow' her keys to use as photo props.  I think I officially only own one key of the many I have photographed.

I found a great photo prop on our little trip.  I have been on the lookout for an old barn door with weathered wood.  I haven't bought one because they all seemed too big to bring in the house.  But on Monday I found a great alternative, an old white cabinet door.  It is easy to move around and has a great texture.  It seems large for a cabinet door, 4 feet tall, but whatever kind of door it was, it is now part of my 'prop' collection.

This week I used the cabinet door as a background for the photo prompt, cuppa, in Kim Klassen's The Studio.

Today I am joining FridayFinds and The Studio.  My images were textured with Kim's texture tuesday.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a great weekend!!

  1. I love the small crackle on the door. And the softness of the petals. Great pictures as always Michelle. I am almost ready for my sunflower picture. Just figuring out what size I need.

  2. The softness and pink are just the thing to see first thing this morning...a gentle setting and the flower petals are stunning. How exciting you found a cabinet door all weathered and perfect for a prop. I think a door is too large to bring inside the house too, so thank you for suggesting a smaller door..oh I'm excited to see if I can find one.

  3. How beautiful Michelle, I just kinda found a key also, right in my home! I was cleaning out my guest room and was moving furniture around to vacuum and in an old chest I have had for years there was an old key in the lock. I had never really looked at the key all that much before still lifes. :) Now I will not only use that old trunk for a table top but also the key. I love that top one so much, with the top down, so peaceful with the focus, gorgeous image and of course the macro of the petals are right up my love system. :)

  4. I especially like the photo of the flower petals--so simple and so beautiful. The cupboard door works perfectly as a background! I have a small door from my Dad's barn that I use as a backdrop and it doubles as a tabletop too.
