Treats

"If you can change your mind, you can change your life."  -  William James

I splurged a little...I bought a big beautiful bouquet of flowers...for myself.

It has been a real treat to have so many flowers to look at, and photograph as well.

Those flowers got me thinking...  What if I chose to look at my whole life as a special treat?  A pleasure and privilege just to be here?  No matter what.

Even cleaning the toilets?

Well...I don't like cleaning toilets.  But I guess it is a treat because I have running water flushing my toilets which is cleaner that many third world country's drinking water...and I don't have to go outside to use one.

What about the pain in the you-know-where as my regular grocery store is remodeling and I can't find anything?  Walking into a climate controlled, relatively bug free area and buying fresh food...definitely a treat.

What about my old car?  A treat, because it is dependable and now safe with its new brakes.

What about my teenage daughter who isn't always, how can I say it...a sweet child?  It is a treat to have a daughter, whom I love unconditionally.

I am sure my list could go on endlessly.

Clearly...I am blessed with treats every day.

What are some of the treats you have received today?

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Michelle

  3. Thank you for putting life in perspective. We have a ton of road construction going on in our town, which is extremely frustrating, but I need to be thankful that I have a good dependable car, even if it is 10 years old. I have money for gas to fill it up whenever I need to. I get to go on photographing outings instead of having to work. Yes, I am blessed.

  4. Well, your photos are always a treat. I think you're very right. Life is often what we make of it - our perspectives make all the difference.

  5. Love the bouquet and I treat myself almost every week with flowers. Living in the desert flowers are not as plentiful and that is usually when I buy because a home without flowers isn't a home to me. I had to smile several times here, I was on a plane yesterday returning from seeing my Grands in the Portland OR area and I was looking at the Alaska Airlines magazine. There was an article for a self cleaning toilet and it peaked my interest. Humm when mine brakes I might just get one. :) Also our Fry's just went through a remodel which is a company of Kroger in the east. I spent so much time looking for things I normally buy even though they has sheet at the entrance every week to help you locate. It is finished now and I love the new look and products I am still hunting for things it seems. Funny how we get so use to our life and when it isn't the normal we are up in a tissy. Have a good week Michelle.

    1. From what I wrote here it didn't sound like I understood your post but I did. I just got off on the frustrations of not having things the way we usually do in our life. It is always good to be grateful and we are coming up on the month when we usually try to be more grateful. We should be all year round shouldn't we? :)
