"The seasons are what a symphony
ought to be: four perfect movements in harmony with each other." -
Arthur Rubinstein
It happens every year...
The days get shorter,
The sun lower in the sky,
The leaves fall from the trees,
The yellow leaves letting go first,
The red leaves being more stubborn to fall.
The temperature gets colder,
The flip flops get put away,
The warmer clothes come out,
And the Christmas decorations begin to emerge...
As the years go by, I notice more of the
delightful nuances in the changing seasons.
Instead of here-we-go-again, I find myself noticing miracles in my day. I am not sure if I am becoming more
patient, or just not so wrapped up in my to-do list, so my eyes, and mind, can
take time to notice the wonderful changes around me. Maybe as I get older I also realize I should
appreciate the time I am given here...
Whatever the reason, I believe embracing the changing
seasons, even loving the ones I don't particularly like, will help me accept other
changes in my life which can't be altered, only accepted. Change is inevitable, it is up to me to adapt
or get grumpy. I would rather be happy, so I guess adapting and finding the
good in it all is the only way to go...in life and seasons...being more like
a yellow leaf, than a red leaf holding on for too long...
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a beautiful day!
Michelle
What a wonderful post Michele. I love love that quote. I am trying really hard this year to not stress myself out. Even though I have paired down a lot with Christmas I still seem to stress myself for no good reason. I want to enjoy the coming months as it is a great time with the weather here in the desert. I will remember your post and these wonderful images. Love the first so much it really speaks of the end of fall into winter.
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully said and honestly, you and I must have been on the same wave length with our posts! Great read today Michelle.
