I haven't seen them...but I can hear them. They are a sure sign spring is here and bugs are near. The woodpeckers are back, the big ones I can hear inside my house. Maybe they never leave, they just find other things to eat in the winter, but the sound of them pecking on the trees is a welcome sign of spring.
Other signs of spring?
Green everywhere.
Flip Flops!!
The frogs are having a symphony every night.
Being able to spend time on a boat.
The smell of mulch.
Aching muscles from working too hard in the yard. (Also a sign of getting old. :)
Earthworms in my landscaping, on the sidewalk after a heavy rain...and on my fishing hook.
The smell of freshly cut grass along with the sound of lawnmowers echoing through the neighborhood.
The back screen door slamming.
A jacket in the morning...a tee shirt by midday.
Dirt under my nails. (How does that happen even when I wear gardening gloves?)
Going to the store with messy hair because the sunroof and all the windows were open in the car.
I have been enjoying spring and got out early to take some pictures of the new leaves in the morning light. I use to think sun flares were a bad thing, now I love them and the haze they add to the picture. I can't wait for more flowers to bloom...and of course to take pictures of them. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Have a great day and enjoy the weather!
Michelle
You sound so busy in the garden! Isn't spring a wonderful time? Ours is glorious this year and I'm outside visiting the lake and parks to get the real feel of it!

The sun flare is something I've never accidentally or intentionally captured...a new challenge maybe. But I love how it softens the images and gives the feeling of being right there. I loved reading about your signs of spring. Today we opened the windows again, after several cold nights and days, so I'm welcoming the next three days of sun and warm. Although I haven't brought out the flip flops yet.
ReplyDeleteTO GLORIOUS SPRING! Wonderful! All of it! Aloha!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely pictures, Michelle. I know what you mean about going to the store with messy hair. I've been doing that a lot lately. : )
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these Spring days.
