Snowy Lake

I took this photo with my iphone, gotta love it for always being there, and processed with the app DistressedFX.  I then put it in Elements and added a Kim Klassen texture called sybil.

My husband wasn’t ready to go home yet, so he took a wrong turn.  We ended up at a small lake, not 15 minutes from our house, that I had never been to before.  The lake is nestled behind a small business, out of sight.   The road leading to the lake looks like a private road, but it is a public park with a parking lot and all.  My husband would go fishing here when he was a kid.  On this day it was frozen, water fountains keeping thawed spots for the ducks, geese and 2 swans.

A walk down memory lane for my husband and a fun find for my daughter and me.

Today I am linkng up with Kim Klassen’s Friday Finds.

Stay warm and safe if snow is in your forecast, or if a lot just fell!  I feel very lucky we missed this last snow storm here in Ohio.  We have a little coming today/tonight, but nothing like the storm that just hit the south and east coast of the US.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Valentines Day!
Michelle

  1. I love it when I discover a new blog and I'm so happy to be visiting you today. Your photos are outstanding. I just got my first DSLR at Christmas and I can learn a lot from your attention to detail and crisp pictures of flowers. I hope you don't mind but I talked about you on my blog today and posted your picture of the hairy sunflower. It is my favorite and worthy of printing and putting up on the wall. It made me so happy to see the bright yellow after all the snow I'm seeing here in western pennsylvania. You can visit my blog at season-to-season.blogspot.co. I will be back many times. Thank you for such lovely work. Peggy from PA

  9. Hi Michelle! I learned about your blog through my blogging friend Peggy who posted the first comment above. I couldn't resist stopping by because I love dandelions. I used to make dandelion necklaces and bouquets all the time when I was a little girl. I swore that I'd carry them in my bridal bouquet. I didn't, but I still love their happy yellow faces in the spring. Happy Valentine's Day to you!
