I took this photo with my big girl camera and used three Kim Klassen textures, 2810, jamal and 0212. |
The word
photography originated from two Greek words:
φωτός (phōtos),
photos for ‘light’
γραφή (graphé),
graph for ‘drawing’
Together
they mean ‘Drawing with light’.
I love to draw with Light. I see Light and want to capture it’s
beauty.
I chase Light. I wait for the ‘right’ Light.
I observe Light and it’s
endless array of qualities, how Light caresses each subject in a different way,
sometimes softly, sometimes harshly. I move to see Light reflected on a surface, or so I don't see it's reflection.
My camera is my tool.
My camera captures the Light it sees. Different wave lengths translate
into different colors. Different intensities translate into lights and darks.
Photography is capturing the characteristics of Light in a
given moment as it falls on an object or objects. The inspiration for an image may begin with
an object, but it is truly is all about the Light.
I took this picture with my iphone and textured it with the Kim Klassen texture 99. |
Today I am linking up with Kim Klassen’s Texture Tuesday. Today’s theme is light.
I hope wherever you are spring is starting to
arrive.
Okay, that may be premature, but I still am hoping.
Have a great week!
Michelle

of light is adapted from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photography
Good morning, Michelle. You are a master of finding the light. Those flares on the bottle are extraordinary. What a beautiful photograph. I put your sunflower on my blog as you know and have gotten a wonderful response to it. Have you considered selling the rights to it? I would love to enlarge it and put it on my kitchen wall. It is amazing. Peg
ReplyDeleteLove the bubbles in the glass -- so cool! Love the quote too. Happy Tuesday Michelle! xo
ReplyDeleteoh how pretty. we have very little light this morning...hopefully we will have more tomorrow after these snowsqualls pass over us.
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
ReplyDeleteNo Spring here yet! Just more snow!! Such lovely light captures.
ReplyDeletegreat shots - you captured the light beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI just love that last shot of the light and shadows you've captured - well done!
ReplyDeleteI love the bubbles in the green glass of that vase and how you captured the sparks of light - lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou beautifully described light in words and pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is magnificent! Your words about light were wonderful ~ I so get it! I think light is pure magic. With photography it's all about light. I'm just baby steps into photography in terms of sophistication ~ just a point and shoot Canon and iPhoto recently upgraded to aperture. Sometime I hope to master more difficult techniques. One step at a time! Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful captures....Light changes everything doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteYou captured the light beautifully, Michelle !
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and quote !
Nice week,
Sylvia
Love these images! The light on the first one is my favorite, I think :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love them both, but I think my favourite is the first one - I love the little "starbursts" of light at the side of the bottle.
ReplyDeleteStunning photos and a great reflection.
ReplyDeleteLove!
