Christmas Cactus

This Photo textured with kk_touchof-1.

I was supposed to be packing.  But the sun pulled me to the window where my Christmas cactus sat, the petals were glistening.

So … I stopped packing and grabbed my camera.   I only felt guilty for a minute, once I saw those tiny details everything else faded away.

I always end up moving around my subject until I am shooting into the sun.  This goes against most rules of photography.  But I like the outcome, the blown out background with sheer petals.

I hope I can keep it alive to take more pictures.

Last week I had trouble with my blog.  The comments were not all publishing.  Turns out I clicked on a box enabling Google+ comments and this doesn’t let all comments be published.  When I uncheck the box, all comments from the blog are erased.  ERASED!  GONE!  POOF!  I have to uncheck it to hopefully have all the comments publish again.

Hopefully (there is that word again) this will work.  I really appreciate each comment and was sad to have to erase comments from my previous blog entries, but better now than a year from now.  I am keeping my fingers crossed (and my toes crossed too!) that this will work.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great week!

Today I am linking up with Texture Tuesday.

  1. Beautiful work on the top one - I like the softness you of the center. Mine will be blooming in a few days now, for the first time. Pretty color!
