We are celebrating Thanksgiving this Thursday in the United States.  It is a day we spend with family eating too much turkey, watching football (our game has a ball with pointy ends) and the next day shopping until we drop.  We also spend time being grateful for all we have. 

The Pilgrims were the first ones to mark this occasion.  They were just grateful to be alive and have food to eat.  I am grateful for both of those things as well as many others, a warm house, running water, medicine, my list goes on.

My favorite part of Thanksgiving is getting together with my family. My family lives a few states over, so I don’t see them as often as I would like.  This makes it all that more special when we do see each other.  The stories of, ‘Do you remember when?’ come out.  We laugh.  I love the unbridled belly laughs that send tears down my face.  It is wonderful to spend time with those I love.

I am grateful this Thanksgiving for all the charming gardeners in my life who make my soul blossom.
